Deutsche Telekom expands mobile connectivity offering with Starlink LEO satellite
Deutsche Telekom Global Business Solutions, one of the world's leading integrated telecommunications companies, expands its mobile connectivity solution and now offers connections via low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites in partnership with Starlink in Brazil.
The Leo Satellite solution, launched during Futurecom 2025, guarantees high-speed, low-latency internet through constellations of satellites in low Earth orbit and is capable of providing connectivity in remote or hard-to-reach areas, in places where fiber does not reach, such as rural, maritime, and isolated industrial areas.
"This type of satellite connectivity solution works as an enabler for several value-added services, such as 5G networks, 5G private network backhaul, OT automation, IoT, edge computing, intelligent video surveillance, SD-WAN/SASE integration, and critical connectivity in remote operations where connectivity is lacking," explains Veridiana Vieira, Head of Sales at Deutsche Telekom Global Business Solutions Brazil.
Sectors such as agribusiness, e-commerce, mining, oil and gas, logistics, hospitality, and maritime transportation will be the main beneficiaries of the Leo Satellite. In agribusiness, for example, the solution enables everything from remote monitoring of soil conditions to automated control of agricultural machinery. In the logistics sector, it allows for real-time tracking of buses, fleet vehicles, and cargo, optimizing routes and increasing safety.
