This is all true, but the main problem isn't an extra 6 or 8 months of marriage prep.
It's that Boomers/GenX didn't raise their children to be actual adults by age 18. Getting married at a young age is almost totally forbidden because they haven't "found themselves" or "don't know who they are."

The Church tried to institute marriage prep and encourage much more discernment to try to cut down on all the retards asking for annulments. “Your marriage is valid because we explicitly told you what marriage is, not a dissoluble contract but a sacramental transformation that can’t be undone.” Unintended consequence is a bureaucracy which has to sit down with you for several months to most of a year in a specific localized area. Know a few people this has made things a lot more difficult for. Catholic parents are much like secular parents also pretty terrible at forming their daughters to prioritize marriage.

GenX here. I shared my first place (1987) with 3 roommates in a 3 bedroom townhouse (4 of us) and we all worked fast food jobs. Those paid under $5 an hour then 🤷♂️
