It is not
@Keir_Starmer who should be resigning, it is
@KarlTurnerMP and the MPs undermining their own party and Prime Minister who should be considering their positions.
What I have actually seen across social media over the past several days is far more support for Starmer than opposition from genuine
@UKLabour supporters. Most people understand that governments face difficult periods, especially after inheriting years of instability and decline. What they do not want to see is MPs creating chaos from within for personal ambition, headlines, or factional point-scoring.
If Labour MPs think the media and Reform will suddenly back off once Starmer is removed, they are seriously misjudging the situation. The moment they see a Prime Minister brought down by his own side, they will become even bolder and more aggressive, because it will prove that enough pressure and internal rebellion can break the party apart.
What Labour needs now is reflection, discipline, and serious policy discussion about how to improve and reconnect with voters where necessary. That is what responsible politicians do.
Labour also desperately needs a complete shake-up of its
@labourpress and communications operation, because at the moment they are doing a terrible job of selling what the government is actually doing to the country. Far too often Labour allows opponents and hostile media outlets to frame the narrative uncontested, while achievements, policies, and long-term plans are either poorly communicated or drowned out completely.
Some MPs are fuelling instability and damaging public confidence, putting themselves before the country and before the party that voters elected into government. Labour will not survive this constant internal warfare, just as the Conservatives didn't. If this behaviour becomes the norm, the media and Reform will simply target every future Labour Prime Minister until they are politically destroyed.
So either get behind the leader the public legitimately voted for and get on with the job you were elected and paid to do, or just go, step aside and let somebody else do it.

I have today issued a statement calling on the Prime Minister to resign.
This is not something I do lightly. I have known and supported him for many years, but the Labour Party is losing the trust of the people we were elected to serve.
