I’d like to add a few of my own thoughts here.
I also believe that the
@BoredApeYC ecosystem has now reached its bottom, and by analyzing the MAYC chart, one could conclude that this looks like a good investment opportunity.
“The time of maximum pessimism is the best time to buy, and the time of maximum optimism is the best time to sell.”
I believe in the future of
@yugalabs ,
@apecoin , and their metaverse
@OthersideMeta .
I’ve always wanted to buy a MAYC and become a holder — the potential is definitely there — but for now, it’s still out of reach for me.
But should everything really revolve only around
@OthersideMeta ?!
Let me explain what I mean:
I agree that buying a MAYC means:
- Getting into the
@BoredApeYC ecosystem and becoming part of
@yugalabs development.
- Owning a recognizable PFP (a symbol of the 2021–2022 NFT bull run).
- Joining an interesting and active community.
- Gaining exposure to a developing ecosystem around
@apecoin .
However, I think that for the NFT market to attract global attention again, a new project needs to emerge — one that becomes the “face” and guiding light of the next wave.
The NFT space is vast, with many projects developing in different ways — from their own L2s to metaverses and various other products.
But 2022 and 2025 are very different:
The market is now bigger, yet there’s no clear leader who has kicked off a new run or made the NFT world simple and inviting for newcomers.
When you bought a BAYC in 2022, you got access and privileges such as:
- Entering the ecosystem as a premium NFT holder (with a high entry price).
- Gaining major visibility and social status (especially on Twitter at that time).
- Receiving periodic rewards (MAYC, BAKC, Otherside,
$APE).
- Sharing a connection with celebrities who also owned BAYC.
- Access to new NFT projects as an elite
@BoredApeYC holder (whitelists, etc.).
<< In 2022, BAYC wasn’t just an NFT — it was a ticket to the Web3 elite >>
Now the situation has changed a bit.
Of course, BAYC still remains a strong club with an active and powerful community, plus multiple evolving products.
But as I said above — the NFT world today lacks a project that acts as the face and gateway into Web3, not just an entry into one closed ecosystem.
I don’t want to favor or recommend anyone — I’m simply sharing my opinion and discussing the NFT space as I see it.
To be honest, I really like what
@moonbirds have been doing over the past six months.
They’re partnering with various projects and engaging people — not by making vague promises that fuel unrealistic expectations, but by actually delivering utility to their holders across other Web3 projects.
That’s exactly what I see as the real “pass to Web3.”
Besides developing
@moonbirds itself, they actively collaborate with others — making the project not just a self-contained NFT world but a connector across different crypto and Web3 ecosystems.
This is something the
@BoredApeYC ecosystem lacks a bit, even though I understand that
@yugalabs is deeply focused on
@OthersideMeta — a solid product that continues to integrate new collaborations and NFT collections into its metaverse.
Still, I believe
@OthersideMeta should be just one part of the
@BoredApeYC ecosystem.
In general,
@BoredApeYC NFTs should once again become a gateway to Web3, evolving alongside other projects.
They should show people that the
@BoredApeYC PFP is not exclusively about
@OthersideMeta or
@apecoin —
but a status symbol and one of the key faces of both the NFT world and the broader, expanding Web3 space.
(What should that look like? — I gave
@moonbirds as an example, led by
@spencer, similar to how
@BoredApeYC represented the NFT space back in 2022)
That’s what I think BAYC currently lacks — not just being the face of its own great ecosystem,
but also being the face that bridges and empowers other developing projects in Web3.
By doing that, BAYC could give new people even more reasons to join and explore our NFT world.
