Such an old person strategy… but it's really helped me! If I start to feel like I'm going to hurt my back or cause an injury to a joint if I continue I just stop my lift. Maybe this is a no-brainer for you, but for me as a former athlete it goes against everything I was trained to do. Finish, finish, finish. Well guess what if you finish and get injured then instead of missing a half lift you'll miss 2 or 3 workouts!
