THE AGE OF DISCLOSURE
The concept of a continuum describes a gradual and cumulative process of transformation, in which transitions do not occur abruptly but rather through interconnected stages of evolution and adaptation. By way of example, human evolution can be understood as a continuum of gradual changes between species over time, or a particular illness can be viewed as a continuum of health changes that led a healthy person to develop a certain medical condition. These are gradual processes, with scales and transitions.
“We are releasing a lot of information related to extraterrestrial things, and people are absolutely fascinated by it,” President Donald Trump said very recently. “Literally, it’s the number one trend—can you believe it?” This statement arises in a specific context: the Pentagon has launched a website displaying hundreds of declassified files, videos, and documents concerning Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs). Congressman Eric Burlison, a member of the House Oversight Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, openly states regarding this issue: “We are living in the age of disclosure.”
A topic that in the past entailed “political and reputational assassination” is now a worldwide trend and has prompted the public to ask: “Are they going to reveal something else?” Hollywood-style scenarios of media fascination lead us to imagine the President of the United States sitting in the Oval Office, informing the world of the existence of non-human beings or intelligences. That simplistic scenario pushes us to look for a climactic moment: a single, definitive announcement—an unmistakable before and after.
However, the reality is that, in any process of global transformation, what usually occurs is something far more gradual and progressive: a continuum that could eventually lead to that long-awaited moment.
It is impossible for me to state with absolute certainty that non-human beings or intelligences exist. What I can recognize with the same degree of certainty, however, is the existence of a very clear continuum beginning in 2017. Specifically, in December of that year, the major modern turning point occurred when The New York Times revealed the existence of the secret AATIP program and published military videos such as “Tic Tac,” “Gimbal,” and “GoFast,” which showed unexplained encounters recorded by U.S. Navy pilots.
That article confirmed that the Pentagon and the United States Government had maintained active investigations into UAP phenomena despite decades of official denials. From that point forward, UAPs began a slow but persistent transition from spaces considered marginal or nontraditional into a matter of national security and public transparency.
The U.S. Congress became increasingly involved, promoting hearings, reports, and legislative reforms aimed at greater transparency on the issue. The Pentagon confirmed the authenticity of the videos, established new UAP investigative offices, and began treating the phenomenon as a legitimate national security concern. At the same time, figures such as Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Marco Rubio, and Chuck Schumer, among others, publicly acknowledged that there are objects observed in the sky whose origin cannot be explained with certainty.
Between 2021 and 2025, the United States Congress held several public hearings on UAPs for the first time in more than half a century. NASA initiated official studies, and permanent bodies such as AARO emerged to investigate anomalous phenomena. Likewise, multiple whistleblowers and former government officials asserted that secret programs exist for the recovery and reverse engineering of “non-human” technology.
