Through our #GoSolarReadSmart Program, we provided 100 solar lanterns to Junior Secondary students (Grades 7–9) and 20 lanterns to teachers at Olopito Comprehensive School. When we followed up with some of the families, we found an inspiring difference. Then: Learners relied on kerosene lamps — dim, expensive, and harmful. The smoke caused breathing problems and eye strain, and families spent a large share of their income on fuel. Despite the cost, the light was too weak for meaningful study, cutting short revision hours. Now: With solar lanterns, students are reading storybooks, completing homework, and revising for exams after sunset without health risks. Teachers are preparing lessons more effectively, and families are saving money once lost to kerosene. The shift brings lasting benefits: ✅ Health – no more inhaling toxic fumes or straining eyes under flickering light ✅ Economic relief – families save money previously spent on kerosene ✅ Learning outcomes – more hours of study, better preparation, and growing confidence A simple lantern has transformed evenings at Narok turning darkness into opportunity. As part of our Go Solar Read Smart Program, we showed students and teachers how to use their new solar lanterns a clean, safe alternative to kerosene lamps. With 100 Junior Secondary students (Grades 7–9) and 20 teachers receiving lanterns, evenings are now brighter for study, lesson preparation, and homework. Together, we’re making learning possible long after the sun goes down. #GoSolarReadSmart #LightingUpLearning #CleanEnergyForEducation #QualityEducation #3EsExperience #AfricanChildBookCampaign #NarokCounty #EndEnergyPoverty

Lighting the Path to Education and Clean Energy at Olopito Comprehensive School As part of our mission to promote quality education and clean energy in underserved schools like Olopito Comprehensive School, we recently distributed solar lanterns under our Go Solar Read Smart Program. Our baseline assessment revealed a major challenge as a day school with no boarding facilities, many students struggle to study after sunset due to a lack of electricity. Some rely on kerosene lamps, which produce dim, flickering light and release harmful fumes that cause breathing difficulties and eye strain. To bridge this gap, we distributed clean energy solar lanterns to: ·    100 Junior Secondary School students (Grades 7, 8, and 9) to support their evening studies. ·    20 teachers to help with lesson preparation, marking assignments, and planning activities. These lanterns will empower students to: ·   Read storybooks previously distributed through our African Child Book Campaign. ·   Revise and complete homework after dark. ·   Build a stronger passion for learning. In September, we will follow up with home visits to monitor the use of the lanterns, assess their condition, and evaluate the impact. We aim to extend this support to lower-grade pupils, and we need your help!  To donate solar lanterns and brighten more futures, visit 3es-experience.com. #GoSolarReadSmart #3EsExperience #AfricanChildBookCampaign #CleanEnergyForEducation #LightingUpLearning #SolarForSchools #QualityEducation #RenewableEnergy #ClimateAction #NarokCounty #EducationForAll #EndEnergyPoverty #GreenLearning #SustainableDevelopment #SDG4 #SDG

Mr. Nkuito, the Head Teacher of Olopito Comprehensive School in Narok, together with the school board, teachers, and the area Administrative Chief, warmly welcomed the #3EsTeam to the school, marking the official curtain-raiser for our School Empowerment Program. We are proud to have already made significant improvements to the school's infrastructure, replacing worn-out roofing to stop leaks, installing water gutters for rainwater harvesting, and ensuring access to clean drinking water and sufficient water for cooking. Now, we’re going a step further to support quality education through the launch of three impactful projects: 📚 African Child Book Campaign – Promoting a strong reading culture by distributing storybooks and learning materials to students. 🔆 Go Solar Read Smart – Providing solar lanterns so learners can study, read, and revise even after sunset. 🌱 Start Smart Mentorship – Equipping students with non-academic life skills and career mentorship. Together, we are empowering the next generation for a brighter, smarter future. 💡📖👧🏾👦🏾 #3EsExperience #EmpowermentInAction #GoSolarReadSmart #AfricanChildBookCampaign #StartSmartMentorship #NarokSchools #TransformingEducation #YouthEmpowerment #sustainabledevelopment

After our planning session with stakeholders during the African Child Book Campaign, we joined the students in planting trees around their school, working side by side to green their learning environment and kick off the campaign with purpose. These trees will grow alongside the dreams of the children we’re here to empower with books, mentorship, and light. #AfricanChildBookCampaign #3esempowernment #BooksAndTrees #GreeningEducation #EmpoweringYoungMinds #TogetherWeGrow #GoSolarReadSmart #LiteracyAndClimate

Today, we reflect on the Day of the #AfricanChild. The theme “Planning and budgeting for children’s rights: progress since 2010” is a reminder that real impact takes time, intention, and consistency. Through the #africanchildbook Campaign, we’ve equipped hundreds of children with books, pens, and learning materials improving literacy and academic performance. With #GoSolarReadSmart, we’ve delivered solar lanterns to students in off-grid areas, helping them study safely after dark. And through mentorship, we’ve supported young learners with life skills, career talks, and confidence-building, planting seeds of leadership early. We believe budgeting for children’s rights means showing up consistently with the right tools, time, and heart. #DayOfTheAfricanChild #AfricanChild2025 #ACBC #AfricanChildBookCampaign #GoSolarReadSmart #MentorshipMatters #InvestInTheChild #BudgetForTheFuture #ProgressSince2010
