I was on the 1997 JSU team as a Freshman...two of the members were still there. I was impressed with their depth of knowledge on so many subjects. I definitely learned alot that year.

Some folks may remember the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge that was broadcast on BET in the 1990s. Roberta McLeod founded the HU team and worked with College Bowl and Honda for years to support student participants like me and so many others. @hcasc

Benedict College HCASC Team Sweeps First Competition of the 2025–26 Season Columbia, S.C., November 17, 2025, The Benedict College Honda Campus All-Star Challenge (HCASC) Team opened the 2025–26 academic competition season with an outstanding performance, securing victories in every match during a scrimmage held Monday, November 10, at the Honda Plant in Timmonsville, South Carolina. The Tigers faced off against Allen University and Voorhees University, emerging undefeated, including an impressive 910-point win over Voorhees. Before competing, team members toured the state-of-the-art Honda facility, setting the stage for a day of spirited academic challenge and growth. “As the coach of the Benedict College HCASC team, I couldn’t be prouder of our scholars,” said Dr. Kimberly Singletary. “Their commitment to academic excellence and teamwork was truly inspiring. Damn…I was on Teen Summit one time with my @hcasc teammates, and @MalcolmJamalWar was on the show too. Afterwards, he gives us his number and said he wanted to hang later. We were shocked when he answered and came to pick us up. Dude showed us the time of our lives!! RIP!!
