Spare us the confetti, Champagne. Investors do not put money into Canada because a minister says “place to invest” three times on X. They invest where rules are stable, approvals move, taxes make sense, and builders can actually scale.
The real money is chasing American scale. SpaceX just pulled in massive investor demand, while Canada is still celebrating tiny launch projects and press releases. Reuters reported SpaceX’s huge IPO push, while the OECD says Canadian business investment per worker remains weak and was only 85% of its 2014 level as of 2023. CD Howe also warns Canadian workers are getting far less new capital than U.S. workers.
That is the scoreboard. Not elbowzo slogans. Not photo ops. Not Bay Street applause. Capital goes where it can grow. Right now too much of it looks south. 🤡
