It was an honor to attend the Halal Science Technology Transfer & Global Networking Workshop, co-hosted by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia & the Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi, in collaboration with the Halal Science Centre, Chulalongkorn University and Jamia Mosque
This workshop is part of a series of initiatives aimed at deepening knowledge on halal compliance—beyond religious aspects—to include scientific traceability, supply chain transparency and consumer trust.
The Halal Science Centre, the world’s first research center dedicated to halal science, showcased pioneering work through the Halal Forensic Science Laboratory (HAFOLAB). Its cutting-edge efforts in halal blockchain technology, halal route digital traceability, transparency of supply chains and advanced biochemical analysis, including; DNA, gelatin, fatty acids, alcohols and proteins, demonstrate how science and innovation can uphold halal principles.
In today’s global markets, consumers—Muslims and non-Muslims alike—often face challenges in identifying product origins and processes. With the guidance of faith and the precision of science, these advancements provide clarity, confidence and trust.
We were joined by senior Somali and Kenyan officials, Ambassadors and other diplomats, scholars, businesses and religious leaders. The final public lecture will be held at Jamia Mosque on Thursday, August 28th, after Asr Prayer at 4:30PM.
