ഓരോ സന്ദർശത്തിലും കൂടെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യയും വന്നിരുന്നു. ആരോഗ്യത്തിൽ വലിയ മാറ്റമുണ്ടായി. ഒരുദിവസം രാവിലെ എനിക്കു വന്ന ഫോൺകോൾ അക്ഷരാർഥത്തിൽ എന്നെ ഞെട്ടിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യയ്ക്ക് ഉദരത്തിൽ ചെറിയ വേദന അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടതിനെ തുടർന്ന് മറ്റൊരു ആശുപത്രിയിൽ നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനയിൽ വൻകുടലിൽ കാൻസർ കണ്ടെത്തി. സ്കാനിങ് റിപ്പോർട്ടുകളുമായി അവർ പിറ്റേന്ന് എന്നെ കാണാൻ ഒപിയിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ ഞാനാകെ വിഷമിച്ചു. കുറച്ചുനാൾ മുൻപു വരെ ഭർത്താവിനു കൂട്ടുവന്നിരുന്ന ഭാര്യ അന്നു മുതൽ രോഗിയായി എന്റെ മുൻപിലും ഭർത്താവ് റിവേഴ്സ് റോളിലും....
