#HeyJB got it right. If you're consuming this nonsense and resharing/repeating information that hasn't come from authorities, you're part of the problem.
This is exactly the problem with coverage of this story - podcasters, online sleuths, armchair detectives, pundits, legal contributors and, yes, even some “journalists” making wild accusations, false statements, sensationalist claims, and just grasping at everything and anything to get clicks, likes, views and follows without ANY factual or substantive basis.
It is dangerous and, as history has shown, can ruin innocent people’s lives.
We know people are hungry for information, but you can’t be irresponsible with unconfirmed information.
