At the Spartanburg Humane Society, a lovely dog named Chauncey would often peek out from the hole in his kennel door to see other dogs leaving the shelter with their new families.
Chauncey was a bit shy but very sweet. The shelter staff would calm him down, but the volunteers knew he was a sweet dog who could be taken for walks and enjoyed exploring the parking lot. He was also good on a leash.
His first adoption didn’t go well, and he returned to the shelter, but he didn't lose hope. Then one day, a family saw a post on Facebook about him and came to adopt Chauncey. That day, he left with his forever family after giving all of us a sweet hug.
