Across the upper Hindu Kush (Kalash & Kafiristan) โ Hunzai -Himalayan belt, juniper smoke is widely used in ritual contexts for purification & as an offering to deities.
This smoke setting also helps facilitate the trance-like state through which shamans engage with the spirits.
