Here are updates from the ongoing aquaculture enterprise training at the University of Abuja Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Centre.
Participants have been engaged in hands-on training, beginning from milling fish feed as part of feed formulation practicals, to the proper handling of live fish without getting injured, and inducing fish to enable the easy release of eggs, among other components of the training.
Trainees were divided into different batches for the practical sessions, and the groups will be rotated to expose all the participants to fish breeding, feed formulation, and fish processing practicals in the coming weeks at the University’s Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Wildlife Management.
This programme is being implemented under the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project of the Federal Ministry of Education, with support from the World Bank.
