Today, I read about a Palestinian father's heartbreaking journey. He braved the dangers of Gaza to fulfill his son's simple wish for sweets, only to return to the unimaginable: his son and wife, victims of a missile. They sought safety, but found tragedy. My heart aches for them, and for all those caught in this endless cycle of suffering. No words can heal such wounds, but in sharing their story, we remember their humanity and the dire need for peace.

“I went to get you these biscuits, son. Keep them. Take them with you [to heaven].”
His little son asked him for something sweet.
He risked the dangers, leaving his home to cross Gaza to find something sweet for his little boy.
He came home to find an Israeli missile had taken his son and wife.
They had left their home for refuge to Khan Yunis, where the Israeli army told people to evacuate to for safety.
But there is no where safe in Gaza from this criminal army.
