Hey, @NYCMayor and @ZohranKMamdani. Congrats on your inauguration as #NYC mayor! A super awesome #climate action you can take to undo Cuomo's damage would be to make moves to reopen #IndianPoint #nuclear plant. You could rename it and make it publicly owned and operated!
Now that Zohran Mamdani is mayor, it's time to revisit my arguments and concrete policy suggestions for the mayor's office embracing the upstate nuclear project developed by the very public power utility Mamdani has politicized and that NYC government is a major customer of.

🚨☢️ 45,000 Gallons of Radioactive Water To Be Dumped Into the Hudson River, Judge Says It’s Legal. It may be legal, does NOT mean it is correct! Is it LAWFUL? No, as lawful is no harm, no trespass! Greed & Wickedness!
A U.S. federal judge has overturned a New York state law meant to block radioactive wastewater discharges into the Hudson River, giving the green light to Holtec International to release 45,000 gallons of tritiated water from the Indian Point Nuclear Plant site.
🧪 The water contains tritium, a radioactive isotope of hydrogen.
While officials say it’s been “diluted” and meets federal safety standards, critics argue there’s no safe level of radiation in drinking or ecological water sources.
🌿 Environmental groups, Indigenous leaders, and Hudson Valley communities had celebrated New York’s 2023 “Save the Hudson” bill, but that’s now been declared unconstitutional, with the court ruling that only the federal government can regulate radioactive materials.
Opponents argue:
• There was no environmental impact study done.
• The Hudson River is a vital ecological and recreational resource.
• This opens the door for more nuclear discharges in other states too.
💬 “This is a betrayal of public trust and environmental justice,” said Riverkeeper, one of the lead advocacy groups fighting the discharge.
🏞️ Indian Point has been closed since 2021 and is being decommissioned. Holtec says releasing the water is cheaper and more efficient than storing or evaporating it. Money over Nature! Greed & Wickedness!
