Key measures include micropiling, RCC retaining walls, river training works, rockfall barriers, and hillside stabilization systems. He also reviewed the proposed 240-metre cut-and-cover tunnel under the NH-10 upgradation project.
These initiatives will enhance connectivity, improve road safety, and ensure reliable all-weather access across Sikkim.

आज महाराष्ट्र राज्य सड़क विकास निगम (MSRDC) द्वारा प्रस्तुतीकरण के माध्यम से विभिन्न रोड इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर परियोजनाओं के अनुभव साझा किए गए। इस दौरान विशेष रूप से समृद्धि महामार्ग के अभिनव फाइनेंसिंग मॉडल, एसेट सिक्योरिटाइजेशन, भू-अर्जन प्रबंधन तथा परियोजनाओं के समयबद्ध क्रियान्वयन पर विस्तृत चर्चा हुई।
बैठक में यह समझने का अवसर मिला कि किस प्रकार दूरदर्शी योजना, वित्तीय नवाचार और प्रभावी प्रबंधन के माध्यम से बड़ी इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर परियोजनाओं को सफलतापूर्वक क्रियान्वित किया जा सकता है। इन अनुभवों का लाभ मध्य प्रदेश में सड़क एवं परिवहन इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के विकास में निश्चित रूप से मिलेगा।

मुंबई महानगर प्रदेशाच्या शाश्वत विकासासाठी एक महत्त्वाचे पाऊल उचलले गेले. ऑस्ट्रियाचे अर्थ, ऊर्जा आणि पर्यटन फेडरल मंत्री श्री. वोल्फगँग हॅटमॅन्सडॉर्फर यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील आणि भारतातील ऑस्ट्रियाचे राजदूत डॉ. रॉबर्ट झिश्ग यांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीतीत उच्चस्तरीय शिष्टमंडळाने एमएमआरडीएच्या मुंबईतील मुख्यालयाला भेट दिली.
या भेटीदरम्यान ऑस्ट्रियाच्या मंत्र्यांनी धोरणात्मक सहकार्यासाठीचे 'लेटर ऑफ इंटेंट त्यांना (LOI)’ डॉ. संजय मुखर्जी, भा.प्र.से, महानगर आयुक्त, एमएमआरडीए यांच्याकडे सुपूर्द केले. यावेळी दावोसमध्ये मिळालेल्या उत्स्फूर्त प्रतिसादानंतर, एमएमआरडीएकडे विविध देश आणि संस्थांचा ओढा वाढल्याचे डॉ. मुखर्जी यांनी अधोरेखित केले.
या LOI मध्ये खालील महत्त्वाच्या क्षेत्रांमध्ये सहकार्याची रूपरेषा मांडण्यात आली:

दावोस येथील नुकत्याच झालेल्या वर्ल्ड इकॉनॉमिक फोरम २०२६ येथे एमएमआरडीएने
२३३ अब्ज डॉलर्सची थेट परकीय गुंतवणूकेचे करार केले होते. या पार्श्वभूमीवर, मुंबई महानगर प्रदेशातील विकासाच्या कामांमध्ये जागतिक गुंतवणूकदारांचे स्वारस्य वाढला आहे.
जागतिक भागीदारीसाठी एक व्यासपीठ म्हणून उदयास येणे ही एमएमआरडीएसाठी अत्यंत अभिमानाची बाब आहे.

The engagement culminated in a key outcome, with the Austrian Minister handing over a Letter of Intent (LOI) for strategic cooperation to Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA. Dr. Mukherjee highlighted that MMRDA is seeing increased engagement from countries and institutions post the strong response received at Davos.
The LOI outlines Austria’s commitment to collaborate with MMRDA across key sectors, including:
✔️ Skill development in tunnelling and underground infrastructure
✔️ Technology transfer and innovation
✔️ Academic and institutional partnerships
✔️ Economic cooperation and industrial linkages
✔️ Tourism development
✔️ Development of a framework for long-term, formal collaboration.
It reflects Austria’s strong interest in establishing a structured partnership with MMRDA across multiple sectors, setting the stage for a future-ready, knowledge-driven infrastructure ecosystem.
In the backdrop of the recent World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, where MMRDA secured USD 233 billion in FDI commitments, global interest in investments across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region has been rising.
It is a matter of immense pride for MMRDA as it emerges as a dynamic platform for global partnerships.
