MONEY
Our estimate spend by runners last year in kasese and surrounding areas from close to 18k people was over ushs 34bn. We want it to go to ushs 100bn and we know itās possible.
Today morning I was chatting with one of business leaders in kasese and I told him we for example used ushs 100m for Kilimanjaro marathon activation, he couldnāt believe it.
This week, the team of over 10 people head to KASESE for work, over ushs 10m will be spent, in October we did standard chartered bank marathon, over ushs 50m was spent.
Next week team heads to Cape Town, close to ushs 100m will be spent, last year alone we did 25 activations in 8 countries and these are just part of expenses.
We are sending doctors for training in Spain and France since we are a world label race and thatās not cheap, even the label isnāt free after you get it.
KITS FOR RUNNERS!
Ushs 50k is simply a contribution on the kits, a Tshirt will cost Ushs 60k like one we did activation with last week, a cap around Ushs 30k, medal over 20k, waist bag over 20k. You havenāt put timing, bibs . A runner will cost close to Ushs 140k.
Standard chartered marathon will for example raise usd 2.5m every year so Nairobi city can earn over usd 30m because of 32k runners from 90 countries.
GREAT LAKES SAFARIS had to support Rwenzori marathon with 100s of million for it to start growing like you see. It will pay say in 7 to 8yrs.
And yet we have a new big dream for
@RwenzoriMarathn and we want Uganda , kasese and Rwenzori on even higher level at the world athletics certification!
The beneficiaries in kasese and around have no idea what it costs for them to have that business. Bringing people from over 35 countries isnāt a childās play, not at all!
