This fall, a team travelled to Canada’s Arctic to test polar over-the-horizon radar, which bounces radio waves off the ionosphere to see around the curvature of the Earth. This research supports improving situational awareness as part of NORAD modernization. #ArcticScience

Reminds me of the search for Erebus and Terror ships from the Franklin Expedition near Gjoa Haven.
I never understood why Inuit divers (also ice rated) weren't hired to be part of the team of technical experts.
