How were books collected, read, copied, and shared in the pre-modern Islamic world? What roles did libraries—personal, institutional, mobile—play in shaping scholarship, canons, and memory?
Join us for a landmark conference that explores the intellectual, social, and material worlds of Islamic libraries before modernity. We welcome papers that engage with historical case studies, archival sources, theoretical approaches, and more.
