All high schools in @JCPSKY currently start at 7:40.But not all students are arriving at 7:40. On too many days @FairdaleHigh & others, students are walking in after 9:30 bc their bus driver had to cover a vacant route or a double or triple run. We must do better. #JCPSStartSmart

@JCPSKY is a member of @GreatCitySchls (districts with 75,000 Ss). 85% of them have more than one start time PER LEVEL (elem., middle, and high). Our current reality of 2 main start times is outdated & has caused bus delays for 20k Ss. We must change.

This is why we need to change the start times. I received these two texts this morning regarding busses at the two schools my children attend. Some of our students are missing multiple hours of school. That is NOT OKAY. #JCPSStartSmart

There are at least 80 students who routinely miss up to 2.5 hours of school everyday at Fairdale High School due to transportation shortages. 100s more wait for 2nd and 3rd run buses. This is NECESSARY change for OUR kids. Tune in at 6 PM for more info. #JCPSStartSmart
