Even extradural cavernous ICA aneurysms can rupture late after flow diversion. New #JNET case report: delayed rupture as a direct carotid-cavernous fistula on POD6, rescued by transvenous intra-aneurysmal coil embolization (mRS 1).

New JNET review synthesizing 7 studies (2016–2026) on flow diverter stents for recurrent aneurysms after stent-assisted coiling. Across series: complete occlusion 38–94% (improving over time), major complications 0–5%; neck width predicts incomplete occlusion.

Classification systems are hard to remember. JNET remember one branching point: 👉 Can you see vessels? ❌ No → Type 1 ✅ Yes: • Organized → Type 2A • Disorganized → Type 2B • Destroyed/amorphous → Type 3 Think of vessels like threads in a wool ball That's 90% of JNET.
