What a weekend for Jackson Track and Field. The Polar Bears made history at the OHSAA State Championships, bringing home multiple Division I state titles and giving our community plenty to celebrate. Congratulations to seniors Micah Regimbal, Preston Young, Jackson Baker and Corey Jacobs, who won the boys Division I 4x100 relay state title — the first boys track state championship in Jackson High School history. Congratulations to junior Gabby Whalen, who won the girls Division I pole vault state title with a vault of 12-6. And congratulations to Abby LaPole, who became a three-time state champion in the seated shot put. These moments reflect talent, preparation, coaching, teamwork and the kind of commitment that creates lifelong lessons for our students. Polar Bear Nation is proud of you. Jackson students made a strong impression at the Stark Tank Business Pitch Competition, with Sparkbyte earning 1st place and $2,000 in funding and OffBeat Games earning 2nd place and $1,500. These results reflect more than a successful competition day. They show the value of giving students meaningful opportunities to think creatively, solve problems, communicate clearly, and present their ideas with confidence. We are proud of both teams for the way they represented Jackson Local School District. Their work is a great example of students applying learning in relevant, real-world ways and making our community proud. #PolarBearPride #JacksonLocal #StudentSuccess #StarkTank

Jackson High School Student Services recently gave students a valuable career-learning experience through a partnership with MentorStark. During a visit to Employer’s Health, students heard from employees about their unique career paths and learned from Chairman, President, and CEO Chris Goff about the company’s work and the importance of building social capital. Experiences like this help students connect classroom learning to future opportunities while building the relationships and skills that matter beyond high school. We are grateful for partnerships that help prepare our students for what comes next. #PolarBearPride #JacksonLocal #EmployersHealth

In Mr. Dria’s classroom, learning is hands-on and relevant—students build skills, confidence, and connections that prepare them for what’s next. Thank you to FFA, the Ohio Farm Bureau, and Nationwide for helping make this presentation possible. Mr. Dria is now one of 10 finalists in Ohio eligible for Ag Educator of the Year. Show Mr. Dria some love in the comments — our community is proud of you! #PolarBearPride #JacksonLocal #GoldenOwlAward #AgEducation #FFA #RealWorldLearning #CareerReady #CommunityPride

Hallie and Chris represented Jackson at the Ohio Regional Braille Challenge — and we couldn’t be prouder. They were 2 of just 79 students in Ohio selected to compete in this worldwide literacy challenge, testing skills like reading comprehension, speed, accuracy, spelling, proofreading, and braille typing. The Northern Region event was hosted at the Stark County ESC by the Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, alongside students from across Stark County and Northeast Ohio. Opportunities like this help students strengthen real-world literacy skills and build confidence — and Hallie and Chris stepped up in a big way for Jackson. Give them a quick congrats in the comments! #PolarBearPride #JacksonLocal #BrailleChallenge

What a special night at Jackson High School as we celebrated the retirement of Kyle Young’s jersey—a key member of our 2017 state championship team. We also loved sharing the moment with the next generation—handing out jerseys to younger players—and recognizing our youth cheerleaders at halftime. Nights like this remind you what makes Jackson such a strong community. Great night to be a Polar Bear. #PolarBearPride #JacksonLocal #JacksonHighSchool #PolarBearBasketball #StateChamps #Tradition #NextGeneration #CommunityPride

We’re proud to share photos highlighting our Jackson High School Scholastic Art & Writing Award winners — students whose work earned regional recognition among the top young artists and writers. In addition to Gold and Silver Key awards, JHS students received nearly 70 Honorable Mentions, reflecting both talent and the strong learning opportunities available through our Fine Arts program. A special congratulations to Amelia Nonnamaker, whose Gold Key jewelry portfolio is our first in many years and will advance to national-level judging this spring. This success is the result of students willing to challenge themselves and educators who guide and support their growth. Congratulations to teachers Lisa Ayres, Russ Suhy, Ryann Despot, Leslie Walters, and Sara Andes for their work with these award-winning students. This is Jackson Local — high expectations, creative learning, and a community that celebrates student achievement. #PolarBearPride #JacksonLocal #StudentAchievement #FineArts #CreativeLearning #CommunityPride

The Jackson Band is in sunny Orlando this weekend — representing Jackson Local with a terrific parade performance at EPCOT this morning. It was the Purple Army's first time performing in the park, and students will also take part in clinic sessions with Disney musicians to learn, improve, and bring new ideas back home. Proud of the work they’ve put in — and grateful for the families and community support that make opportunities like this possible. #PolarBearPride #JacksonBand #MusicEducation #StudentLearning #CommunityPride #JacksonLocal

Something big happened today at Jackson High School! 🎉 Auto Tech Trades teacher Mr. Joe Drury has been named one of just 25 national winners of the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence. This honor brings $50,000 to our career technical programs, supporting hands-on learning opportunities for students. Mr. Drury was surprised by the award, and his students gave him a standing ovation — a powerful reminder of the difference great teachers make every day. Congratulations, Mr. Drury, and thank you to @HFTforschools for investing in our students’ futures. #PolarBearPride #JacksonLocal #ExcellenceInEducation #CareerTech

Today, on Patriot Day, our community comes together to remember those we lost and reflect on the power of service. 🇺🇸 Students from the Jackson Academy for Global Studies, Jackson School for the Arts, and Industrial Technology placed more than 400 flags along the Jackson High School parkways. This meaningful project, every Patriot Day, givereminds us of how learning, service, and community pride connect s our students a chance to learn through action — honoring the past while contributing to something bigger than themselves. Their work is a reminder of how learning, service, and community pride connect here in Jackson Local Schools. #PolarBearPride #PatriotDay #JacksonLocal

Jackson High School students are leading the charge in building school spirit! 🎉 They’ve launched a new Instagram account — @jhs_spiritspotlight — to highlight Polar Bear pride and encourage classmates to pack the stands at football games (with plans to expand to soccer, basketball, and more). At each game, students can take part in a contest for a chance to win a $5 gift card. It’s a fun way to celebrate spirit while learning what it takes to organize, promote, and grow a school-wide movement. We are proud to partner with local businesses, which have already stepped up to provide gift cards to students who participate. Their support shows the strong bond between Jackson students, schools, and the community that rallies behind them. Follow along, join in, and let’s show what Polar Bear Pride really looks like! 🐻‍❄️ #PolarBearPride #JacksonLocal #SchoolSpirit #CommunityStrong
