If your clothes get torn, Tsugihagi( meaning patchwork) could be a good way to cherish them, instead of throwing them. In the Edo or Meiji periods, most people were not rich enough to buy a new Kimono. So, they mended their kimono using Tsugihagi made from worn-out fabrics. Today, I mended my favorite Hakama with Tsugihagi. The top part of the Koshi-ita( backboard ) is easy to tear. #JapanTips

The thing visitors forget most in Japan is tiny. A small hand towel. A lot of public sinks have soap but no paper towels, so that little towel saves you all day. #JapanTips

First time using an onsen in Japan? ♨️🇯🇵 Onsen are one of the best parts of traveling in Japan, but the rules can feel confusing at first. The key is simple: Wash first. Soak quietly. Keep your towel out of the bath. Check tattoo rules. No photos. Relax and enjoy. I made a simple onsen guide for visitors to Japan. Hope it helps you enjoy Japanese hot springs with confidence☺️ #JapanTravel #Onsen #VisitJapan #JapanTips #JapaneseCulture #HotSplings #JapanGuide

Sushi was traditionally eaten by hand in Japan. Chopsticks are also OK, but eating with your hands is the safest choice. However, pickled ginger (gari) is always eaten with chopsticks. 🍣 #JapanTips #SushiManners #DiningInJapan

In Japan, if a bowl can be held, it’s polite to lift it while eating. Rice bowls, miso soup, and small side dishes are held. Large plates stay on the table. 🍚 #JapanTips #JapaneseManners #DiningInJapan

In Japan, you don’t always need to say “thank you.” A small nod or a smile often says enough. But I usually say, “Oishikatta desu.” (It was delicious.) #JapanTravel #JapaneseManners #DiningInJapan #JapanTips

In Japan, when staff say “sorry,” it often means “I care,” not “It’s my fault.” Replying with “It’s OK” shows kindness back. #JapanTravel #JapaneseManners #DiningInJapan #JapanTips #QuietKindness

In Japan, taking photos of your food is usually OK. Before you do, a quick “Shashin totte ii?” (Camera OK?) That small pause shows respect. #JapanTravel #JapaneseManners #DiningInJapan #JapanTips

In Japan, you don’t have to leave right after eating. Take your time. Just read the room when the restaurant gets busy. #JapanTravel #JapaneseManners #DiningInJapan #JapanTips
