In Oak Class, we are learning all about our digestive system. We have used a model to help us learn how our food and waste move through our body. It was a great hands-on activity!

What a noisy afternoon we have had in Oak Class! We have been investigating how different sounds are made by making vibrations. @KirkbyCofE#KCEScience@WhiteRoseEd
Oak class have been learning all about sound in their science lessons. Through making paper cup telephones, they now understand that sound waves cause vibrations which travel along the string to other cup. They had great fun talking to each other! #KCEScience@WhiteRoseEd
If you heard strange noises coming from Pine Class, it was just the latest science experiment with Mrs Smith - investigating sound vibrations. Thank you for another fun lesson! #kcescience@KirkbyCofE
Oak Class have been learning all about changing states in Science. We know all about melting, freezing, condensing and evaporating.
What is happening to these chocolate buttons? Why is this happening? What would happen if your chair was made out of chocolate?

This week in Science, Sycamore Class were investigating shadow size. We planned an investigation to find how the distance from a light source affects shadow size. Thanks Mrs Smith🔦😃 #kcescience
Willow Class then used their models and found that shadows are long first thing in the morning, grow shorter nearer to midday and then grow longer through the afternoon. We know the sun rises in the East and sets in the West. #KCEScience ☀️
The bird feeders we can see from Rowan class have been topped up - now we’ll see which birds come to visit. So far this year we have spotted robins, blue tits, magpies, crows, sparrows and blackbirds. We are ready for the #BigSchoolsBirdwatch! 🐦⬛ @RSPB_Learning #kceScience
Willow Class have been investigating variations in series circuits. We built parallel circuits and concluded they were the best type of circuit for Christmas tree lights! 🎄💡 #KCEScience
Willow Class can construct series circuits with different components and draw diagrams using symbols. We are learning about current and investigating voltage! 💡⚡️ Great work everyone 👍 #KCEScience
What an exciting day of exploration and problem solving! Oak class have been learning how to build a complete circuit in their science lessons. They know how to include a cell, a bulb, a buzzer, a motor and a switch. #KCEScience
This week @KirkbyHigh, Rowan class experimented on the melting points of white vs dark chocolate. 🍫 Special thanks go to Mr Shaw for allowing us to eat some chocolate afterwards - we all had rumbly tums in the science lab! 😋 #kceScience
The results are in! 🥚Rowan class’s experiment into the effects of different liquids on eggshells to replicate tooth enamel yielded some interesting results. See for yourselves… 🦷 Hopefully they’ll be brushing their teeth properly after this! 🪥 #kcescience@Colgate
