Final update - @ritdhwajsingh had the right approach. I could not get Sendkeys to capture text to the clipboard. So I tried: Robot class keyPress KeyEvent.VK_CONTROL keyPress KeyEvent.VK_C keyRelease KeyEvent.VK_CONTROL It worked once I put it in a 25ms .sleep delay loop.
