A very enthusiastic discussion is ensuing at Renfrew High and Renfrewshire Council’s workshop on effective deescalation approached when working with dysregulated behaviour. Led by Principle Teacher, Kimberley Roan- McVeigh, the group are exploring ways to show support and respond in ways to help validate feelings and make young people feel safe. #KibbleConf25

At this afternoon’s workshops, we’re hearing from Ross Gibson of @CYCJScotland who is discussing the outcomes of the 2025 Secure Care Census which explores the pathways of young people coming into secure care, both from birth, and from the year prior. The survey had a 100% response rate thanks to the input of young people, and the secure care providers in Scotland. #KibbleConf25

One of the lasting points by Professor Helen Minnis, was that children who are sensitive to bad things, are equally highly sensitive to good things too. Ultimately, it’s about respecting and understanding the individual needs of each young person. #KibbleConf25
