Have you heard of WC and the Maad Circle? If you haven't, let me educate you!
In the streets of Los Angeles in the early 90s, a group was born that would go on to make history in West Coast rap: WC and the Maad Circle. Led by WC (Dub-C), a pure lyricist with an aggressive flow and unique gestures, the crew was made up of raw talents: Coolio, long before he became world-famous with Gangsta's Paradise, DJ Crazy Toones, WC's brother, and Big Gee. Their sound? An explosion of G-funk beats, heavy bass, and sharp rhymes, typical of the California streets.
They released two cult albums: "Ain't a Damn Thang Changed" in 1991, an underground classic that captures the essence of the ghetto, and "Curb Servin'" in 1995, their last project before the group's breakup. After this adventure, WC made his mark with Westside Connection alongside Ice Cube and Mack 10, forever etching his name into the hip-hop pantheon.
WC and the Maad Circle embody the DNA of West Coast rap, a time when street stories were raw, unfiltered, and unmarketed. If you love the golden age of hip-hop, you have to listen to them. Respect forever. 💥
