@duolingo I don't even know where to start with this.
I just failed my English test certification — not because I cheated, not because I wasn't prepared, but because my ELBOW accidentally touched my phone and moved the camera for a few seconds during a 1-minute question.
That's it. That's the reason.
I panicked. I was mid-answer on a timed question. I made a split-second decision to finish speaking first and then fix the camera. And for that one human moment — that one tiny, accidental mistake — my entire test was thrown out.
This is my SECOND attempt. Do you have any idea what it takes to sit this exam twice? The money. The nerves. The preparation. Waking up early, making sure the room is quiet, making sure everything is perfect… and one accidental elbow movement undoes all of it?
I'm not angry. I'm just… exhausted and heartbroken.
I couldn't afford to retake this and yet here I am, being told my results won't be certified over something that any human reviewer could see was a genuine accident — if they just looked at the footage.
I'm begging you
@duolingo — please review my first camera recording. Please let a real person look at what happened. I have nothing to hide. I just want a fair chance.
Is a few seconds of an accidental camera shift really worth dismissing someone's entire effort? Is that the kind of system you want to be known for?
