Life update: I’ve been laid off.
After 3 amazing years at Walmart Inc, I was impacted by their recent restructuring.
It’s hard to put into words how much this role meant to me. As a Staff Software Engineer, I got to work on problems at scale — building full-stack systems that impacted millions, driving data engineering pipelines that handled petabytes of information, and leading efforts in GenAI and ML-powered automation across privacy and compliance.
I built and shipped things I was genuinely proud of. I mentored engineers. I fought hard for clean abstractions and long-term architecture. I worked with some of the smartest, kindest people in the industry. And just like that — it’s over.
If you’ve been through a layoff, you know the strange cocktail of emotions: gratitude, grief, confusion, hope.
Right now, I’m actively exploring new opportunities as a Staff or Senior Software Engineer — ideally in roles involving:
•Full Stack Development (React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript)
•GenAI, LLM apps, agents, vector DBs, prompt engineering
•Data Engineering (GCP, Spark, BigQuery, Dataproc, Airflow, Petabyte-scale ETL)
I’m open to remote roles or SF/Bay Area-based hybrid setups. If you know a team looking for someone who brings technical depth, product intuition, and startup-style ownership — I’d love a referral or a conversation.
Also: if you’re in the same boat, let’s talk. We’re not alone.
