@LockScot Thank you everyone for sharing the key findings so clearly during today’s webinar. It’s been great to be part of the research and look forward to next steps 🙏 #LeftOutlockdown
Sue Laughlin, @WSPGlasgow 'It is clear that the structural barriers that make leaving violence difficult have been compounded by the pandemic. Unless these issues are made central to recovery plans after the pandemic, peoples lives will continue to be in danger
#LeftOutLockdown
Really important point here... what does #BuildBackBetter actually mean for people who were already locked out before lockdown? We don’t want to go back to the status quo, we need to look forward & build a fairer & more just society. #LeftOutLockdown
Listening to @pinar_aksu5 'This pandemic highlighted the existing inequalities for people in the asylum system. The key underlying issue is poverty and inequality. Organisations like @Maryhill_IN try to support people in a humane way'
#LeftOutLockdown
Thank you @pinar_aksu5 for your powerful words:
'What we ask now is that these findings need to be shared widely and taken seriously by the Scottish Government. We need an approach based on human rights and to see people as citizens, instead of their labels'
