On this day in 1988, Introspective, the third studio album by Pet Shop Boys, was released by Parlophone 🎶 The album received positive reviews and stood out for its structure — an LP of six extended tracks, each lasting over six minutes. Singles such as “Always on My Mind” and “Domino Dancing” were released earlier in shorter, radio-friendly versions, while “Left to My Own Devices” and “It’s Alright” also appeared in unique extended album mixes. Of the six songs, only “Left to My Own Devices” and “Domino Dancing” were written specifically for Introspective. 35 years ago, #onthisdayinpop in 1988, twas the season to give a VHS video and #PetShopBoys knew better than most that this was the #Showbusiness thing to do! I was a bit bereft #LeftToMyOwnDevices wasn't on there but the inclusion of #ItsASin alone made it worth the price alone!
