Hard disagree there. If the story was the most important part of destiny, the game would've died ages ago. Its had far more misses and mediocre outings than hits and they really didnt lock in narratively until Witch Queen the expansion right before Lightfall

It’s so funny how they just completely forgot about this gun until its catalyst was released It launched in Lightfall, it’s not even old like the Y1 exotics but it was still completely neglected

My friend got me the dlcs for d2 since they were on sale and bc why not so I go to start the Lightfall dlc since I need to get caught up and as soon as I met Nimbus I just looked up at them like this #Destiny2

I refused to continue as a guardian after lightfall.. Just disappointing after how good Witchqueen was..

The community will never convince me lightfall was a bad campaign. The narrative sucked, yes, but the campaign itself was a blast to play. People just cant separate story from gameplay when they judge things

@Destiny2Team My wife and I decided to get back into the game and she hadn't gone through most of the campaigns. We went through WitchQueen and Lightfall but realized the game was skipping several cutscenes. We started Final Shape, and it completely skipped the beginning.

I took a break after forsaken myself and came back during lightfall and i was lost because it just throws EVERYTHING at you all at once, i was somewhat dedicated to the game atp but i wouldve dropped it otherwise tbh! I love this game but its tough to swallow at the start

Destiny 2 was skating on thin margins, the value of Bungie as a profiting business was overstated by parsons which led to the impairment, less and less people came back to D2 with every expansion, more people played lightfall than TFS

Somehow I dont feel like this is the end of Destiny, even if we have to wait awhile. It brings me great joy seeing the game left in such a good state after years of controversy and agonizing decisions. Even though it would of been perfect to end on the final shape, I think this isnt the worst end either as the community is alive and for once being positive instead of pointing their anger at the wrong place. The developers instead of the dumbass executives who cut and ran. They did try to do the best for the players with what they could at the time. Except whoever wrote lightfall, you rug pulled me after hyping me up with witch queen and ill never forgive you.

I agree in the sense that renegades and EoF was bad yeah. But there was still dungeons and raids (my favorite activities) so I saw no reason not to play what's undoubtedly my favorite game. It was a rough year only for it to end on that rough note, but the state of the game now is fantastic, and I still liked the game alot when others didn't in other lows the game had (ie lightfall)

Lightfall actually has one of the best pieces of character work across all of Destiny’s story but no one will ever talk about it because their too focused on “WAT IS DA VEIL???”

I’ve got my partner into the game (though they’re currently away from home to look after family) and honestly I can’t wait for their take on Lightfall 💀
