youtube.com/watch?v=a8cqkr_o… I just added captions to "Analemma," the mix that really got me interested in DJ-ing as an adjunct to being a musician. To me this is my OG mix, and is special to me in many ways, partly because it so-well exemplifies my signature underwater sound. There's an inordinate amount of Dousk in it, but that's because he does that sort of sound so well. But the main thing I want to mention here is the opener, Lostep's "Burma." It's a truly glorious song, but when going through my archives I found that I had cut it from the mix *and* deleted it from my music collection. When I finally listened to it, it triggered so much memory-retrieval that I became convinced I was an experiencer (i.e. abductee) at an early age. I attempted to get more information about this by reading the main riff as Morse code, but quickly realized that it has a normal clairaudient read: "There are some things that cannot be explained." It's a remarkable statement, and one that I know my spiritual godfather David Lynch (RIP) agrees with. And I can easily imagine that the Lostep guys went to Burma and saw things that cannot be explained. Also deserving of note is "Close Yer Eyes" by Dan F. In another one of my mixes I transition from "Ortygia" into a different track, and I always miss this track's pelvic-thrusting break, and come back here to listen to it. As for the visuals, I changed nothing. I could watch those two smexy creatures walk ahead of me all day, and attempts to make further animations added too much lighting or extraneous drama. Less is more, in this case. Share & enjoy!
