Not every idea deserves a story.
Some are just impressions. Images. Moments that feel meaningful but collapse the second you put weight on them.
Three questions I run on every idea before I write a single page:
Does the conflict write itself, or am I inventing it and forcing it in?
Is there something that must be permanently lost for the story to end?
Does it scare me a little when I say it out loud?
If all three are yes, that idea is worth everything.

Inspiration is a lie writers tell themselves while they wait to do the work.
Every idea I have actually used came from something I could not stop thinking about. An injustice I couldnโt shake. Two things that had no business being in the same story colliding in my head.
You already have the idea. Youโve probably had it for a long time.
Are you willing to look at it directly?
