I recently conducted a second test of FSD Beta 11.4.4, utilizing my standard seven-stage, 30-mile route. There were a couple of significant findings:
1. The software still attempted to cross solid double yellow lines into oncoming traffic in a local construction zone. This happened despite the fact that these lines had been recently and vividly repainted to reroute traffic. It seems the system was relying on existing and usually reliable map data, interpreting it as a valid left turn lane. Nonetheless, I was taken aback when the v11.4.2's visual recognition system didn't supersede this map information.
2. The system exhibited multiple instances of unprotected left turns with inadequate acceleration. Occasionally, it even stalled in the middle of the road, creating unsafe conditions. At times, it positioned the car nearly parallel to the traffic flow on both sides before failing to proceed with the intended left turn.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has encountered similar issues during their experiences with this system.
