NITI Aayog released three reports on enhancing the circular economy in End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs), Waste Tyres, E-waste and Lithium-ion Batteries.
The launch took place on 22 January 2026 during the Material Recycling Association of India (MRAI)–International Material Recycling Conference (IMRC), held in Jaipur. The reports were developed through extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including line Ministries, regulators, industry representatives and knowledge partners.
The reports analysed key challenges across the circular economy ecosystem and provided recommendations for infrastructure development, sector formalisation, strengthening the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) framework, and enhancing economic potential for revenue generation.
The reports aim to improve resource efficiency, strengthen material security and advance sustainability in India.
