A 2nd grader in my #mathCircle @MathCircleNet @Stanford figured out a slick visual way of showing that 2 4 ... up to the nth even number is the nth Square Number n (e.g., 2 4 6 = 3**2 3 = 9 3 = 12). I hadn't thought of this elegant visual proof! #mtbos #iteachmath #mathisfun

Wow, a FIRST GRADER (very impressive even assuming his parents helped) @Stanford @MathCircleNet #mathcircle figured out pattern of diagonals in n-gon! In middle school we can teach n(n-3)/2 but I stick with only /- with 1st/2nd graders. Wow!! #mtbos #iteachmath #mathisfun
