✳️ From the day we took the rams out for the previous 12 months 32% of the average rainfall 💦 was received.
✳️ Total foetus count from ewes scanned in lamb = 193%
✳️ Our 11-year rolling average foetus survival from pregnancy scanning to weaning is 86%
✳️ So if everything goes to plan & we achieve our rolling average foetal survival 166% weaned is this year's target 🎯🤞🧬

This sheep business farmes in southern NSW
✳️ Stocking rate 7.5 ewes Ha
✳️ 120% weaning rate
✳️ Sold his lambs for an average of $297:00 per head
✳️ Lamb income $356:40 per ewe
✳️ Wool income $83:00
✳️ Grossed $439:40 per ewe
✳️ Grossed $3295:50 per Ha
✳️ His EBIT ( earnings before interest & tax) per ewe is $85:00
✳️ EBIT per Ha =$637:50
The first question I asked myself: is there any low hanging fruit 🍎 in this operation.
Well only 2 things stood out for me
(1) Set a goal of weaning 135% in the next 2 years 🚀
(2) Increase fleece weights 💰without shifting micron 🎯
If your of the opinion that increasing weaning % & fleece weights can't be moved together that's simply an old paradigm that has has been broken by many producers.
And it's mostly a free lunch shifting both that revolves around focused management & when you get that right then work on the genetic side of the equation 🧬🩸
