"FEEDERS AND SHADE” What's right & what's wrong? The more shade a feeder receives simply reduces the ability of the lambs to freely move in get a feed & move back out again freeing up space for the next lamb to get a feed. What I have found if one side of the feeder has shade the lamb will come in get a feed then lie down in the shade blocking access to the feeder which then upsets the density of lambs per feeder & reduces weight gains.
