Earlier today, I was privileged to attend the funeral and thanksgiving service of the late Prince Micheal Ayankunle Ponle (FNSE), held in his hometown of Ada, Osun State. He was a man whose life exemplified unwavering devotion to God and an abiding commitment to the service of humanity.
The gathering was a solemn yet dignified occasion, reflecting the magnitude of the loss to Osun State. We paid our final respects to a distinguished figure whose legacy transcended boundaries, impacting the spheres of enterprise, faith, community advancement, and humanitarian service.
In founding MicCom Golf Hotel and Resort, Ada, he demonstrated rare foresight and leadership, contributing significantly to the socio-economic growth of his community and leaving an indelible mark on its development.
The message delivered by the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, alongside tributes recounting the late Prince Ponle’s exemplary life and contributions, both within the Baptist community and across the wider Christian faith, resonated deeply.
It called on all present to reflect on the values of purposeful living, selfless service, and the pursuit of a legacy that endures.
