Swear to god if I see Wemby training with monks instead of working on a midrange jumpshot this offseason I’m gonna lose my shit

Wemby will never be fully respected if he don’t DOMINATE midrange and in. All that shooting 3s seems cool cause he’s tall doing it but that’s not going to win anything

6'2" with 6'4'' wingpsan but: - strong as fuck - shifty - amazing footwork - terrific midrange game - has all the intangibles that make up an amazing leader - will always sacrifice his body to take charges
There’s only one way to win an NBA title with a small guard as your best player—and that’s if they’re a total anomaly. Jalen Brunson is a total anomaly.

Des fois en sorti de PnR il s'arrête tête de raquette pour prendre un long midrange contesté, c'est catastrophique comme shot selection. Wembanyama quand il est lancé avec un peu de vitesse c'est impossible à défendre

Fight inside, at midrange, on the outside… good jab, good speed, good feet, power in both hands, wide punch variety, combos, good IQ, can fight in either direction, good counterpuncher, good defensively, can fluidly transition btwn defense & offense, good chin, good stamina, etc

Micah Mohler (Austin 2029) is the real deal Complete scorer that’s had it going in every way. Multiple 3’s. One dribble midrange pull-up. Gotten to the rim in transition. Also a willing passer that creates for others

Rookie Dylan Harper improved his 3 ball, developed a midrange and floater in season. I can’t even begin to imagine what year 2 looks like. Kid is a gamer, relentless competitor and has unmatched work ethic.

Yea he doesn’t know what he’s talking about😭bird in todays game if would prolly take about 6 3s a game and do most of his damage in the midrange area considering that’s where he thrived…bird is not gonna take the same amount of 3s as Steph curry

"Brunson cant beat you from the midrange" stopped reading after that, cauee thats a dumb thing to say
Basketball is a simple game. Mitch Johnson over complicated it, the entire series, in three ways: 1. Exotic coverages: Brunson can’t beat you from the mid range, much like Shai couldn’t last series. Way too many traps, matchup zones, blitzes, etc. leading to the Knicks attacking long closeouts all series long. 2. Transition to build the lead, and then walk the ball up the floor and play not to lose, with the lead. There was a clock in every single game of the series where you could see the Spurs shift from fast to slow. 3. The Kornet minutes. Mitch chose a guaranteed negative 10 minutes on a game by game basis versus getting creative with his personnel. We’ve never a series more negatively impacted by a coaching staff than this Spurs squad in the NBA Finals. And it was all EXTREMELY predictable and preventable. Mike Brown was INCREDIBLE. No coach more deserving of a title than him.
