Lifted from Stanley Road (1995), this track marked Weller’s full return to Mod form — visually, musically, and culturally. The title itself nods to the flamboyant “peacock” style of the original Mod movement, where fashion was as important as the music.
Driven by a tight groove and crisp guitar work, “Peacock Suit” became one of Weller’s defining solo-era statements — reconnecting him directly to the legacy he helped shape with The Jam, but now with seasoned confidence and control.
