Well since i play World of Warcraft on Moonguard, I'd just throw you into Goldshire Inn.

There are great RPers, but the majority are in Stormwind Moonguard, so it tends to be sifting through to find them. I have found quite a few great RPers, but they are a minority. Took a visit for a few months in WRA, its just the same but smaller but there was still good writers

Yeah, Moonguard more than WRA, is filled with people who treat RP not as like improv or story telling. So when you come off in any sort of negative light, it can just make RPing incredibly difficult. Then there's also a great deal of people who disregard the lore entirely

Play on moonguard then idk what to tell you. I interact with people constantly and it’s very social

It still is. Just go to an RP server like Wyrmrest Accord or Moonguard. Plenty of social guilds and people there. Or go to classic.
