India now has decent to robust Anti Ballistic Missile Defense capability.
Even HQ-19 Can't give us same capability we need Mid course kill vehicle interceptors.
We have to do something about it.

Of Saab-2000 getting KJ-500 for not too Significant Advantages doesn't make any sense for us.
NASTP is doing research on structural and Radar Upgrades for SAAB-2000.

NASTP Will be doing structural and βErieye ERβ radar upgrade for enhanced range and 360Β° Coverage.
It has open architecture we have LINK-17 & HORIZON-7
it comes with a full SPS Suite.

And we already have 11 Airframes for that
We don't need a truck with limited to No SPS.

Everything will not happen "in house," proposed structural upgrades will be carried out by PAC and NASTP while OEM will do the more complex ER upgrade if PAF decides to do it.
And Chinese AWACS are still coming, that's a separate thing from Erieye upgrade.
