The ITU position favours Collaborative and 5th-Generation(G5) Regulation – collaborative and holistic approaches which cover health, finance, and transport, among other sectors, to accelerate digital inclusion; Spectrum and Orbit Management – country’s policy that must align with the ITU’s Radio Regulations; Emergency Preparedness which encourages countries to design and implement National Emergency Telecommunications Plans (NETPs)."

Constructive meeting with H.E. Shadric Namalomba, Minister of Information and Communications Technology, Malawi @MalawiGovt, on the sidelines of #MWC26.
We discussed advancing Malawi’s National Emergency Telecommunications Plans (NETPs), strengthening capacity building, particularly on AI for development, and Malawi’s participation at #ITUGSR, 12-15 May in Ankara.

Particularly true in hospital setting where poor/missing tech/data ensures front-line colleagues are continually saddled with non-productive workload. In 1 area alone we found 2m days(16m hrs) NETPS running at 35% efficiency BMJ a further 13.5m hrs more bmj.com/content/377/bmj.o159…

Not just that NETPs who paid VAT to HMRC (and had no idea that was wrong) were also caught. They now have to pay same again to Amazon and reclaim from HMRC

So very true Alison. Add to this the manual chasing across NHS/ASC NETPS delays and the burden balloons significantly.
We asked colleagues about the 'add to the system later' many said systems were cumbersome, ⏲️ consuming & counter-intuitive. Things could be so much better.

In one area of our focus it's 2m staff days, yes days (16m hrs)
In another its about 600,000 days (4.8m hrs).
In another NETPS work at 35% efficiency but there's more...

Good point. With the right systems in place they wouldn't need to wonder - ward, NETPS, provider and indeed pt family/carer would all be on the same page.

Ano passado o Governo não informou o nº de crianças encaminhadas aos NETPs (núcleo municipal de enfrentamento ao tráfico de pessoas) e o MPT não reportou quaisquer atividades relacionadas ao seu acordo de cooperação com a PF para combater tráfico sexual.
