I’ve been thinking in public about what comes after on-device AI. That thinking led to NanoNet — a research proposal exploring decentralised compute and coordination for sovereign AI. It’s not a product or a launch. It’s a question put in front of the Cardano community via Catalyst. #Cardano #Catalyst #SovereignAI

Hype lives at the app layer. Real differentiation happens at the infrastructure layer — compute, verification, incentives. If Cardano gets that right, everything above it compounds. (This is exactly the gap projects like NanoNet are targeting.)

We’re tackling the issue of privacy, the problem of centralised access to intelligence and how the solution is Self Sovereign AI. It starts with on-device (not your keys….!!). But it must evolve for heavier lifting and this is where the future is hybrid and decentralised. I’m writing and thinking deeply about these issues as we have to ethically build a future we want . I was drawn to Charles and the philosophical alignment Cardano has with Bitcoin. So now…. It’s our turn to pick up the spade and start digging…. For those who are interested, we’ve submitted a proposal to @Catalyst_onX Fund 15: NanoNet: Decentralised Compute for Sovereign AI. Whether we are successful or not…we are going to keep on building. That model seems heavily focused on grounding. Not sure how it compared with PaddleOCR-VL or Nanonet-OCR2.
