Question for #NeoTwitter: Does a borderline p-value from an observational study justify reversing the FDA’s position? Should we be pushing for an FDA-approved pharmaceutical-grade probiotic rather than debating the same unregulated products? What is the right threshold for action in the absence of an RCT? This paper matters but it is not the final word. #Neonatology #NECawareness #ProbioticsDebate #FDAwarning

What an unforgettable week at the Tiny Feet Big Steps 2026 Neonatology Conference sponsored by @Neonatal_Africa in Arusha, Tanzania! Just over 200 nurses and doctors from 22 countries came together for five days of powerful lectures, life-saving hands-on workshops, and real collaboration to advance neonatal care across Africa. The energy was electric from Day 1 and the SALSA workshop right up through the final sessions. As always, Cultural Night was one of the absolute highlights: everyone in beautiful traditional attire, dancing the night away, and even adopting me into the Maasai tribe! The most inspiring part? Seeing the amazing improvements already happening across the continent and the unbelievable enthusiasm our African colleagues bring to this work. They are taking these skills and protocols home to change outcomes for the tiniest patients. Grateful beyond words to be part of this growing movement. TFBS is heading to Uganda in early November — can’t wait to see many of you there! #TFBS2026 #ICHAfrica #Neonatology #NICU #GlobalHealth #NeoTwitter #TinyFeetBigSteps @ChildrensatEHS
