From Dublin to dairy farming
Cailín O'Sullivan is currently completing her agricultural placement on the farm of Eamon Mooney in North Kilkenny.
Coming from Dublin and an all-girls school, Cailín says she always felt a little different growing up — while others wanted to do typical teenage things, she wanted to work with cows and spend time on farms.
Now studying agriculture and gaining hands-on experience during calving season, she’s surrounded by people who share the same passion for farming.
Her story shows how the next generation of farmers is coming from all backgrounds, and how placements like this play a big role in building the future of Irish agriculture.
